Meet The Doctor
With his positive attitude, caring approach, and attention to detail, Dr. Curt Kippenberger will develop a conservative treatment plan individualized for each patient. Dr. Curt is committed to empower our patients to make conscious health and wellness decisions.
Dr. Curt Kippenberger began his journey in health care while attending Rolla High School; as a wrestler, he knew he had to take care of his body to endure the rigors of the season. This path led him to the University of Missouri-Columbia where he studied Human Exercise Sciences and Nutrition. Here, Dr. Curt worked with the Tiger football team as a student athletic trainer. During this time, Dr. Curt became recognized as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He began racing bicycles competitively in 2000 with the Mizzou Cycling Team. While racing, Dr. Curt found that his journey to understanding the human body was far from over. With his cycling knowledge, and understanding of the human frame, Dr. Curt began working with other cyclists as a coach and bicycle fit specialist. While working at Walt’s Bike Shop, Dr. Curt noticed that several cyclists suffered from low back pain, decreased flexibility, and poor cycling posture. After exploring many avenues to address these concerns, Dr. Curt decided to attend Logan College of Chiropractic. During his tenure at Logan, Dr. Curt attended several post-graduate seminars in the areas of Functional Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Acupuncture, Sacral Occipital Technique, and Motion Palpation. Dr. Curt grasped the opportunity to work with Dr. Crystal Peairs at Lafayette Square Chiropractic before graduating from Logan. Through his training at Logan, and his experiences prior, Dr. Curt caters to athletes of all levels, children, families and adults of all ages. He is a member of the Missouri State Chiropractic Association, the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, and the Cherry Hill Business Association.
Dr. Kippenberger founded Focus On Health in Columbia Missouri. He and his wife Krista enjoy working together in the clinic. When not working, the two flee to the outdoors with their two Brittany Spaniels (Parker and Payton). Dr. Curt still occasionally competes as a category 2 road cyclist, and a category 1 mountain bike racer. Both Dr. Curt and Krista are avid cyclists, aspiring rock climbers, and enjoy hiking, camping, backpacking and floating the many beautiful Missouri river ways.
Additional Staff
Rounding off the team is Krista Kippenberger. Krista is also a Rolla native, and a Mizzou Alum. With a background in chemistry and biology, Krista adds a unique prospective to Focus On Health. Her experience in teaching and serving as the department chair of the Pharmacy Technician program at Anthem College led Krista down a path of excellence: in 2009, she was the recipient of the Master Teacher Award.
Krista also implemented philanthropic promotions for her students: “Cash for Cans” helped students pay for books and tuition while the introduction to “The Brian” served as an integral study aid for the Pharmacy Technician Certification exam. Krista has continued her dedication serving the Columbia by volunteering for the Central Missouri Humane Society as a foster parent, and organizing the philanthropic drives for Focus On Health. Among her other aforementioned activities, Krista enjoys antiquing (junk shopping), reading, and taking her two boys to the dog park.
