Dr. Dan

McGaugh

Dr. Dan is from Excelsior Springs, Missouri where he grew up playing baseball, soccer, and indulging in the outdoors when he could. Following high school, Dr. Dan attended Northwest Missouri State University where he received a degree in Biomedical Sciences and graduated with magna cum laude honors. At Northwest, Dr. Dan was in a 3:1 program that allowed him to have his senior year of undergrad be his first year of chiropractic school. This allowed him to start toward his Doctor of Chiropractic degree a year early.

Dr. Dan became interested in musculoskeletal system after having family members that were going through pains in various joints. After watching his father go through back pain, ultimately leading to surgery, Dr. Dan was inspired to figure out how he could help others that might be going through similar pain. So for the three years following undergrad, Dr. Dan went to Logan University to work toward a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. At Logan, he would become a tutor for many classes and serve on the executive board of Student American Chiropractic Association and Forward Thinking Chiropractic Alliance. Through these clubs, Dr. Dan was able to inform younger students about evidence-based care and the research that surrounds this care.

Also during his time at Logan University, Dr. Dan took part in seminars and extracurricular learning such as Motion Palpation Institute, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, Dry Needling, Principles of Movement, and even lobbied in Washington D.C. to improve chiropractic care for Medicare and TriCare patients. Additionally as a student, Dr. Dan worked in a federally qualified health center where he was able to provide evidence-based and patient-centered care to a low-income community. After serving his final trimester of Chiropractic school at Focus On Health, Dr. Dan graduated from Logan University with magna cum laude honors and is now a Doctor of Chiropractic.

When Dr. Dan isn’t being a nerd about research about evidence-based care or taking care of patients, you can find him outdoors hiking, hunting, fishing, and traveling to new places! Dr. Dan is a bit of a U.S. National Park enthusiast; he has been to 13 National Parks where he hiked volcanoes, cliffs, forests, and deserts! Dr. Dan loves to see people being active and doing the best they can to take care of their health because he believes it inspires him to do the same. He wants you to reach your goals of movement and health just as much as you and he’d be happy to do anything to get you there!
