Spring Forward: 4 Tips to wake up rested after Daylight Savings

Here we go again! It’s time to move our clocks ahead one hour. 

Although there has been talk about ending the twice-annual changing of clocks, the decision has not been finalized. Which means we get to endure the dreaded time change yet again. 

It’s only an hour shift… Why does this time change seem to take such a toll on our bodies every year?

When we lose an hour of sleep and an hour of daylight in the morning, it throws off our internal clock which makes it difficult to fall asleep at night. This change in time can negatively impact our sleep for up to several weeks. 

Ready for a good news, bad news sandwich? 

😀 Good news: the groggy feeling you have on the Monday after Daylight Savings is 100% valid.  

😞 Bad news: we do not possess the power to cancel daylight savings time. 

😀 Good news: we do have the power to minimize the impact of this time change on our sleep, so we stay well-rested and alert.
